SE Portland Mural Tour
SE Portland Mural Tour
One of the things I love so much about Portland is how many neat little things you can find in each little corner of the city. When COVID hit and we were given “stay home,” orders we were told to recreate locally to stay safe and help stop the spread. Since we are weekend warriors that rarely stay around the city, the idea of staying local to recreate was completely foreign to me.
I started growing a garden, running in my local neighborhoods and we even took a little tour of some SE Portland street murals!
If you’re in Portland visiting or if you live here and you are looking for something neat to do be sure to check these out:
Hawthorne Arrows - 916 S.E. Hawthorne Blvd.
Painted by local artist Blaine Fontana this mural is fa favorite of mine - full of vibrant colors, it can brighten even the grayest Portland day!
Stampeding Rhino - 1308 S.E. Morrison St.
Painted by Pacific Northwest native Josh Keyes. Head there in the evening or early morning if you want an unobstructed view as it is painted on the wall of a parking lot!
Bot Wall - 1205 S.E. Stark St.
Painted by local artist, Gary Hirsch. Who wouldn’t love this wall full of cheerful robots asking you questions?
Art Fills the Void – Banana
Created by a group of street artists called “Gorilla Wallflare” in 1982. Fun and quirky, this is Portland’s oldest piece of street art and was restored in 2015
These were the ones we were able to visit on our mini tour. There are still so many I have yet to see in the City so keep checking back for more! I hope you have a chance to visit these!
Also, if you love the L.L.Bean boots and color block vest – click here to get your hands on them!
