Did you know that at least 8 million tons of plastic end up in our oceans every year, and make up 80% of all marine debris from surface waters to deep-sea sediments? Well here is some news you can feel good about - my friends @llbean and their recycling partners have turned over 40 million plastic bottles into polyester fabric for clothing and outerwear. This ultralight 850 hooded down jacket for example - its shell is made up of 100% recycled fabric and each every bottle that goes into these products, is one less bottle that ends up in our landfills or oceans. On top of that its down (as with all @llbean down products) meets the responsible down standard for humane treatment of animals and traceability from farm to factory. Ultralight, warm, PFC-free (meaning NO man-made chemicals which do not occur naturally) and water-repellent - the new 850 Down Jacket is my new favorite thing!
